On Saturday , May 18 th , Gateway ’ s National Honor Society students participated in Clean Communities , a project in which members volunteer to clean up an expanse of their surrounding school district in an effort to beautify the area . This year members happily picked up more than 100 pounds of trash and recyclable items from the river section of Beach Hill Road in National Park , making quite a difference in its appearance .
