Gastronome is an online magazine dedicated to highlighting artisanal food production and the way that it feeds our body. Combining images of people, places and pastries, the Rustica Bakery issue follows one of the best bakeries in America, Rustica Bakery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Gastronome is meant to trigger the viewer to question the last time they took a moment to really slow down and take notice of what they are eating. To reflect and identify the role that food plays in their day-to-day lives. Are meals just a fleeting fullness or do they provide substantial satiety, and what do they feel are the factors that to contribute to those feelings?
My grandfather has always been my strongest influence as an artist. He was the first person to invite me into the kitchen when I was just four years old and ignite my passion for food. He always taught me that the best things in life come from the heart and that you can taste the love in good cooking. Although he is no longer with me, my grandfather lives and breathes through the colors, the lighting and the composition of my work.

“For is there any practice less selfish, any labor less alienated, any time less wasted, than preparing something delicious and nourishing for people you love?”
