4 Salam Garuda Indonesia SALAM GARUDA INDONESIA Pahala N. Mansury President & CEO PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Dear valued Garuda Indonesia customers, On behalf of Garuda Indonesia, I would like to extend our condolences and sympathy to the people of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, who have been affected by a series of earthquakes. In a programme supported by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) to help survivors recover from the disaster, Garuda Indonesia sent medical experts from the Indonesian Doctors Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia/ IDI) along with the necessary medical equipment and medicine to a number of temporary shelters in the region. In line with the airline’s efforts to accommodate a spike in flight demand and to ease passenger flow to and from Lombok after the quakes, we have also opened extra flights for Lombok, deployed wide-body aircraft, and are offering a 50 per cent discount for deliveries of aid to the island. Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia has completed the departure period of its special hajj flights for the 2018 hajj season on August 15. During this period, the airline carried a total of 107,606 pilgrims and recorded an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 94.6 per cent. All passengers of our pilgrim flights were flown from nine embarkation points and were divided into 278 flight groups. Earlier in July, Garuda Indonesia increased its flight frequency for the Medan–Gunung Sitoli route from nine flights weekly to 12 flights weekly. The move is intended to improve convenience for travellers visiting Nias, one of Indonesia’s top tourism destinations. Additionally, as we continue to help travellers with exciting travel packages in their search for new experiences, we are once again gearing up towards our next Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF), set to be held on October 5–7. This follows the recent success of our Garuda Indonesia Online Travel Fair (GOTF) in August. Also in October, Garuda Indonesia will be the appointed airline for the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group’s annual summit, which will be hosted by Indonesia in Bali this year. All of our programmes this month and in the coming months are part of our efforts to always provide ease and convenience for our customers on their travels, as well as to support the development of the national tourism industry. And for that, I would like to thank you, our customers, for trusting and flying with Garuda Indonesia.
