Rainbow Ridges, China

The rainbow ridges and red
rocks of the Zhangye National
Geopark form one of the most
enchanting landscapes in China.
In the northern foothills of the
Qilian Mountains, the park’s
Linze Danxia scenic area is
renowned for its fantastical ‘layer
cake’ rock formations, the result
of deposits of sandstone and other
minerals over 24 million years.
