Juliana is a lifestyle
writer and copywriter
based in Jakarta.
Beginning her career
in 2009, she has had
her work published in
Prestige Indonesia, Yahoo!
Indonesia and The Jakarta
Post. Fascinated by how
the sharing of food relates
to personal history,
community and culture,
she is on a prodigious
quest to experience
unique cuisines in all
corners of the world.
Follow her whims
on Instagram as
juliegramming. With 14 years’
experience working in
the magazine publishing
industry (GADIS, Cita
Cinta, Femina), Yani
Lauwoie has written on
a wide variety of topics.
However, travel writing
is where her real passion
lies, allowing her to
combine her love of
words with her desire
to explore the world.
Read her travel stories at
yanilauwoie.blogspot.com. Mark Parren Taylor is
a UK-based culture and
travel reporter. His work
is published throughout
the world, and though his
assignments can send
him anywhere, he prefers
East and Southeast Asia.
“The speed of change
is astonishing,” he says,
“and at the same time
there’s a satisfying
balance between the
new and the traditional.” Originally from
the UK, David Burden
has been living full-time
in Bali for more than
10 years, photographing
a range of subjects –
everything from food and
restaurants to travel and
editorials. He has
travelled extensively
around the archipelago
on the hunt for waves,
new places and smiley
faces, but always makes
at least two trips to East
Sumbawa each year to
take some time out
and stock up on the
local honey. Valentino Luis was
born and raised in
Maumere, Flores. He later
completed his studies
at Udayana University in
Denpasar, before moving
to Germany in 2012
having decided to become
a full-time traveller. His
love of the mountains and
the people in the remote
areas of Flores inspired
him to establish Shoes
for Flores and Flores
Rural Library, social
programmes focused
on education, while
he continues to write.
Juliana adalah penulis
artikel gaya hidup dan
copywriter yang berbasis
di Jakarta. Memulai
kariernya di tahun
2009, karya-karyanya
telah dipublikasikan di
Prestige Indonesia, Yahoo!
Indonesia dan The Jakarta
Post. Terinspirasi untuk
berbagi informasi
kuliner yang baginya
berhubungan dengan
kisah personal,
komunitas dan budaya,
ia pun bertualang
mencari masakan unik
di seluruh dunia. Ikuti
petualangannya di akun
Instagram juliegramming. Telah bekerja selama
14 tahun di industri
media (GADIS, Cita Cinta,
Femina), Yani Lauwoie
tidak asing dengan dunia
tulis-menulis. Terlepas
dari kemampuannya
menulis berbagai topik,
perjalanan adalah topik
yang paling diminatinya.
Dengan menulis kisah
perjalanan, dia bisa
menggabungkan
dua hal favoritnya, yaitu
menulis dan jalan-jalan.
Baca karya-karyanya di
yanilauwoie.blogspot.com. Mark Parren Taylor
adalah reporter budaya
dan wisata yang berbasis
di London. Tulisannya
telah dipublikasikan
di seluruh dunia.
Meskipun punya
kesempatan menjelajahi
berbagai negara, Taylor
lebih memilih Asia Timur
dan Asia Tenggara.
“Kemajuan di negara-
negara ini pesat sekali,
tetapi keseimbangan
aspek modernitas dan
tradisionalnya tetap
terjaga,” ujarnya. Walau berasal dari
Inggris, David Burden
telah tinggal di Bali
selama 10 tahun untuk
memotret segala hal
mulai dari makanan
dan restoran hingga
travel dan editorial.
David telah berkeliling
Nusantara demi berburu
ombak besar, tempat
baru dan wajah-wajah
ramah, tetapi dia juga
selalu memiliki waktu
untuk setidaknya
dua kali setahun
ke Sumbawa Timur
guna berlibur dan
membawa madu khas
daerah tersebut. Lahir dan tumbuh
di Maumere, Flores,
Valentino Luis
menyelesaikan studi
di Fakultas Sastra
Universitas Udayana,
Denpasar, kemudian
hijrah ke Jerman. Sejak
2012 ia memutuskan
untuk menjadi full-time
traveller. Kecintaannya
kepada pegunungan dan
masyarakat pedalaman
Flores mendorongnya
untuk mendirikan
gerakan sosial pendidikan
Shoes for Flores dan
Flores Rural Library,
sambil tetap aktif menulis.
