Later to be known as the Gunpowder
Plot, the day is widely known as Guy
Fawkes Day, and since that time has
been recalled using effigies of Guy
Fawkes, which are then dragged about
the streets by children asking for
money for fireworks to be set off at
night when the effigies are hoisted
atop bonfires.
