SALAM

GARUDA INDONESIA

M . Arif Wibowo President & CEO PT Garuda Indonesia ( Persero ) Tbk .
Dear valued Garuda Indonesia customers ,
The end of January was an important moment for Garuda Indonesia , when we were appointed to host the State-Owned Enterprises ( BUMN ) anniversary programme in Mandalika , Lombok – one of the priority destinations named by the Indonesian Tourism Ministry – held with the theme ‘ BUMN Here for the Nation ’.
At the programme , Garuda Indonesia , the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry and the 122 other state-owned companies present were able to work together in the development of Mandalika , Lombok , as a Special Economic Zone ( Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus / KEK ), through a Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ) grant with a total value of Rp11.3 billion , intended for the development of the region .
Garuda Indonesia also became part of an environment conservation and ecotourism programme in Lombok , where 100 sea turtles were released at Senggigi Beach .
Moreover , we also granted scholarships for ticketing and ground handling training to students in Mandalika , through which we hope we will be able to produce educated and talented people who will take part in the development of Indonesia ’ s tourism and aviation industries in the future .
Our other contributions include efforts to improve levels of competence in implementing Indonesian hospitality through a state-owned enterprises-based synergy .
Recently , the Garuda Indonesia Training Centre established a partnership with a number of state-owned companies such as PT . Pos , PELNI , PLN and STPI to provide workshops in ‘ Training Services & Development ’, which have been customised to fit the specific products and services offered by the different state-owned enterprises .
Through this partnership , we have high hopes that Indonesian hospitality will no longer be a quality that is exclusive to Garuda Indonesia but one that also belongs to other state-owned enterprises in introducing concepts and services provided by hospitality industries within Indonesia .
Earlier in January Garuda Indonesia also held an environmental conservation programme focusing on mangroves and coral reefs in Ambon as part of its CSR activities , which also coincided with the commemoration of Indonesia ’ s National Press Day .
The National Press Day programme in Ambon held a special meaning for us , as Garuda Indonesia was acknowledged as an important supporter of press professionalism in Indonesia .
Once again we would like to thank you and offer our deepest appreciation to all of our customers for trusting Garuda Indonesia to take you to your various destinations , domestic or abroad .
