Dear Valued Customers,
As a part of our flight network expansion and in
a concerted effort to improve customer service,
in May 2013 Garuda Indonesia inaugurated
Medan as its fourth hub, following Jakarta,
Denpasar and Makassar.
Aside from improving the connectivity between
Sumatran cities, the inauguration of Medan as
the fourth hub reinforces Garuda Indonesia’s
support to the government’s “Masterplan for
Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia's
Economic Development” programme, and is in
line with the opening of the new international
airport in Medan; Kuala Namu.
Marking Medan’s inauguration as a hub, Garuda
Indonesia has launched the Medan–Batam,
Medan–Padang, and Medan–Palembang routes.
Future flight network development from Medan
will include the launch of Singapore, Kuala
Lumpur, Penang, and Bangkok routes.
To support the flight network development
from Medan, seven Bombardier CRJ1000
NextGen aircraft will be stationed in Medan
later this year.
This June also marks an important milestone
for Garuda Indonesia as we progress onwards
with our goal of joining the global airline
alliance, SkyTeam. We will implement a new
cutting-edge “Passenger Service System”, which
will be integrated and standardized with the
passenger service systems of other SkyTeam
members. As a result of this, many additional
facilities will be provided for ground-handling
services, check-in, baggage arrangements,
seat reservation, frequent flier service and
much more.
