Through her global
project ‘Simple Magic
Things’, Russian
photographer Kristina
Makeeva and her team
look for the magic in
everyday life, using
dresses as a focus to show
how a person and their
creations can fit
organically into the
beauty of this world. With 14 years
experience working in
the magazine publishing
industry (GADIS, Cita
Cinta, Femina), Yani
Lauwoie has written on
a wide variety of topics.
However, travel writing
is where her real passion
lies, allowing her to
combine her love of
words with her desire
to explore the world.
Read her travel stories at
yanilauwoie.blogspot.com. Dilvin Yasa is an
Australian author and
journalist whose articles
have been published
around the globe, from
travel websites in
Denmark and food
magazines in the UAE to
newspapers, magazines
and just ab out everything
else back home in Sydney.
Her books, Things My
Daughter Needs to Know
and Good Enough:
confessions of a less-than-
perfect mum, are available
through Pan Macmillan. After studying
countless literary texts at
Andalas University, Fatris
started travelling and
documenting his journeys
in writing. He has had
many of his works
published, one of them
being his first book
Merobek Sumatra in 2015.
He is currently putting
together a book and
documentary titled The
Banda Journal (www.
thebandajournal.org).
Please visit his website
at www.fatrism.com for
more information and
work samples. Valentino Luis was
born and raised in
Maumere, Flores. He later
completed his studies at
Udayana University in
Denpasar, before moving
to Germany in 2012
having decided to become
a full-time traveller. His
love of the mountains and
the people in the remote
areas of Flores inspired
him to establish Shoes
for Flores and Flores
Rural Library, social
programmes focused
on education, while
he continues to write.
Kristina Makeeva
adalah fotografer asal
Rusia. Proyek globalnya
diberi tajuk “Simple
Magic Things”, di mana ia
dan timnya memotret
keajaiban dalam
kehidupan sehari-hari.
Proyek foto yang
menampilkan gaun-gaun
ini adalah caranya untuk
menunjukkan bagaimana
manusia dan kreasi
mereka dapat menyatu
secara alami dengan
keindahan dunia. Telah bekerja selama
14 tahun di industri
media (GADIS, Cita Cinta,
Femina), Yani Lauwoie
tidak asing dengan dunia
tulis-menulis. Terlepas
dari kemampuannya
menulis berbagai topik,
perjalanan adalah topik
yang paling diminatinya.
Dengan menulis kisah
perjalanan, dia bisa
menggabungkan
dua hal favoritnya, yaitu
menulis dan jalan-jalan.
Baca karya-karyanya di
yanilauwoie.blogspot.com. Dilvin Yasa adalah
seorang penulis dan
jurnalis Australia yang
karya-karyanya telah
diterbitkan di seluruh
dunia, mulai dari situs
perjalanan di Denmark
dan majalah kuliner di
Uni Emirat Arab sampai
surat kabar, majalah dan
penerbitan lainnya di
kota asalnya, Sydney.
Bukunya yang berjudul
Things My Daughter Needs
to Know dan Good
Enough: confessions of a
less-than-perfect mum bisa
didapatkan melalui
penerbit Pan Macmillan. Setelah menekuni
banyak teks sastra di
Universitas Andalas,
Fatris MF mulai
bepergian dan menulis
catatan tentang
perjalanan. Banyak
karya yang sudah
dipublikasikan, antara
lain, buku pertamanya
Merobek Sumatra pada
2015. Ia juga tengah
menyusun buku dan
dokumenter The
Banda Journal (www.
thebandajournal.org).
Sejumlah karyanya
dapat dilihat di
www.fatrism.com. Lahir dan tumbuh di
Maumere, Flores, Valentino
Luis menyelesaikan studi di
Fakultas Sastra Universitas
Udayana, Denpasar,
kemudian hijrah ke Jerman.
Sejak 2012 ia memutuskan
untuk menjadi full-time
traveller. Kecintaannya
kepada pegunungan dan
masyarakat pedalaman
Flores mendorongnya
untuk mendirikan gerakan
sosial pendidikan Shoes
for Flores dan Flores
Rural Library sembari
tetap aktif menulis.
