A self-taught
Indonesian chef and one
of Indonesia’s foremost
food writers, Petty Elliott
has pioneered the
archipelago’s cuisine as it
blends with modern
influences. Her latest
cookbook Jakarta Bites
was launched in July 2016
and explores the capital’s
vibrant street-food scene.
Jakarta Bites was named
Best Street Food Book in
the World at the
Gourmand World
Cookbook Awards 2017. Based in London,
award-winning writer
and photographer Daniel
Allen has journeyed
widely across the globe.
His work has featured in
numerous publications,
including The Guardian,
The Sunday Times,
National Geographic,
Discovery Channel
Magazine, Geographical,
CNN Travel and Esquire. Ayos Purwoaji is an
independent travel writer
and curator who works
in history, architecture,
and art sectors. Since
2015, he has been
researching about
modern architecture in
small cities in Java that
has been developing
along with the post-
independence economic
growth. In the same
year, he joined the
Surabaya Contemporary
Heritage Council. Mark Eveleigh arrived
in Kalimantan 20 years
ago, leading an
expedition that became
the subject of his first
book. Since then he’s
worked on assignments
all over Indonesia and
is delighted that there
are still enough remote
islands to last him
a lifetime. He’s currently
writing what he hopes
will be the great
Indonesian travel book. Illustrator Hendri
Nguriana has loved
drawing since elementary
school. Creating
illustrations is his
favourite way of
expressing the ideas,
fantasies and abstract
concepts in his mind. He
takes inspiration mostly
from his favourite movies
and video games and
from his travels.

masak terbarunya, Jakarta
Bites, yang diluncurkan
pada Juli 2016, mengupas
keragaman street food di
Ibu Kota. Buku tersebut
dinobatkan sebagai Best
Street Food Book in the
World, dalam acara
penghargaan Gourmand
World Cookbook 2017. Bermukim di London,
Daniel Allen, penulis
sekaligus fotografer peraih
berbagai penghargaan,
banyak menghabiskan
waktunya berkeliling ke
berbagai negara.
Karya-karyanya telah
dipublikasikan di sejumlah
media, antara lain pada

menginjakkan kaki di
Kalimantan 20 tahun lalu,
saat memimpin ekspedisi
yang menjadi buku
pertamanya. Sejak saat
itu, dia berkeliling ke
pelosok Indonesia dan
selalu menemukan
pulau-pulau terpencil
yang mengesankan
untuknya. Kini dia
sedang membuat
buku perjalanan
tentang Indonesia. Ilustrator Hendri
Nguriana, lahir dan besar
di Jakarta, sudah gemar
menggambar sejak masih
duduk di bangku sekolah
dasar. Menggambar
ilustrasi, baginya,
merupakan sarana
mengekspresikan ide,
khayalan serta konsep
yang ada di benaknya.
Inspirasi dan ide untuk
karya-karyanya
kebanyakan didapatnya
dari film, video game dan
hobi melancongnya.
