Dear Valued Customers, As we approach the end of 2015 and welcome the arrival of the New Year 2016, on behalf of the management and entire staff of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., please allow me to warmly wish those who are celebrating, a joyous Christmas, and also a prosperous New Year to all Garuda Indonesia passengers. On behalf of Garuda Indonesia, I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to all of our loyal customers. Because of your continued support, coupled with our ‘Quick Wins’ programme – Garuda Indonesia’s short-term strategy to prioritise increased performance – as well as our strict discipline on implementing cost efficiency across the board from the start of 2015, we were able to finish the third quarter of the year on a high note, achieving various new benchmarks in performance. Garuda Indonesia Group (including Citilink) successfully served 24.55 million passengers from January to September 2015, an increase of 17.5% compared to the same period in 2014, with 20.89 million passengers transported. As a result of this and other performance achievements, in the third quarter of 2015 Garuda Indonesia was also able to successfully record a net profit (net income year to date) of US$51.4 million, an increase of 123.4% as compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia’s domestic market share has been boosted to 44% compared to 37% last year. Simultaneously our international market share has also grown significantly to 28% from January to September of 2015 as compared to 22% in the same period of the previous year. We are also glad to share the news that Garuda Indonesia was honoured to host a high-level meeting of aviation industry leaders, ‘The AAPA 59th Assembly of Presidents’, which was held in Nusa Dua, Bali from November 12 to 14, 2015. ‘The AAPA Assembly of Presidents’ is an annual forum attended by the CEOs of AAPA member airlines. There are currently 16 AAPA member airlines based in the Asia Pacific region. During the meeting, insightful discussions were held on the matters and issues of most concern to the development of the aviation industry from a commercial and technical perspective, as well as from a general global perspective.
