But before we transition into 2016, we want to take some time to reflect on the past year; and what better way to do so than with a classic road trip? In this edition, we present four epic adventures spanning over 2,500 kilometres. First we drive 600 kilometres across Sulawesi from Palu to Gorontalo, encompassing dry, tropical landscapes, vast stretches of deserted beaches and pristine forests. Next we head Down Under, straddling Highway 1 from Melbourne to Sydney for an Aussie road trip that combines great scenery with lovely towns, from rivers and mountains to bushland and coast. Then we’re off to the Pacific Coast Highway for a classic American road trip, complete with foggy mornings and barefoot kite-flying afternoons, beach shacks and retro hotels. Back home in Indonesia we traverse Sumatra and travel through time, recalling thousands of years of rich history as we journey from ‘old Bencoolen’ to mighty Palembang.
