As travelling becomes an increasingly
important part of people’s lives today and with
the government’s recognition of the tourism
sector as a source of national income, it is now
more important than ever for the tourism
industry to continue presenting creative
innovations in offering alternative travel
packages that appeal to the public. This ninth installation of GATF also
marks the first GATF event to be held in
direct support of the Tourism Ministry’s
target of bringing 15 million international
tourists to Indonesia by promoting great
offers online for inbound flights to
Indonesia through the Garuda Indonesia
mobile app.
Being Indonesia’s flag carrier,
Garuda Indonesia strives to continually
support the government’s programmes,
especially in its efforts to accelerate
development in 10 priority national
destinations outside of Bali, and it is also
our goal to become the bridge that connects
people’s travel needs with a selection of
attractive travel packages and solutions
for them to choose from. Moreover, to optimise our reach within
the corporate market, a Garuda Corporate
Travel Fair event was held for the first
time, involving some 1,000 potential
corporate buyers.
With this goal in mind, Garuda Indonesia
held two travel fair events in the month
of March, namely the first phase of our
Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF)
2017 and the company’s first ever
Garuda Indonesia Corporate Travel Fair.
The first phase of GATF 2017 took place in
24 cities across the archipelago and offered
positive contributions to the company with
a total of over Rp450 billion worth of sales,
exceeding our initial target of Rp380 billion.
Through this series of travel fairs that
highlight a one-stop shopping experience,
we hope to make it even more convenient
for our customers to visit their desired
destinations with a five-star airline
served by the world’s best cabin crew
at an attractive price.
