LAUNCHES DIRECT FLIGHTS
TO EUROPE
Dear Valued Customers,
Garuda Indonesia successfully joined SkyTeam
and became the 20th member of the alliance in
early March 2014. Following our entrance into
the global alliance, we began initiating a number
of changes to reflect our commitment to
optimise the many benefits it brings.
Therefore, the first major change will commence
on May 30, 2014, as Garuda Indonesia proudly
launches a new direct service from Jakarta
to Amsterdam.
Without a doubt, this brand new distinctive
seamless service will be beneficial for you, our
valued customer, as it will be the fastest and the
first ever non-stop flight service between
Indonesia and Europe, which will surely elevate
your travelling experience to the next level.
As Garuda Indonesia is now a fully-fledged
member of SkyTeam, and since Amsterdam is one
of the alliance’s biggest hubs, this new route will
strategically provide added value as a ‘new hub’ for
Garuda Indonesia passengers, enabling them to
access connecting flights to destinations beyond
Europe, with other SkyTeam members.

In order to make this hub both effective and
convenient for our customers, the non-stop
Jakarta–Amsterdam service will be served five
times a week by our brand new, state-of-the-art
Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which is capable of
flying 15 hours, or covering a distance of up to
14,490 km without a single stop.
With the introduction of our direct Jakarta–
Amsterdam route, we have planned for our
forthcoming London service to connect through
Amsterdam. The Jakarta–Amsterdam–London
route will therefore begin operating on
September 8, 2014.
Meanwhile our existing flights to Abu Dhabi,
which in the past were a part of our Amsterdam
service, will continue to operate as a joint service
route with our partner airline, Etihad Airways.
As always, we aim to provide the best service
possible, and hopefully, our new direct Jakarta–
Amsterdam route will ensure greater value and
convenience for all of our valued customers.
