We are also taught of some of the basic first aid actions when emergencies happen. We even had a practice and demonstration with headed by our facilitator. Notes on Lifts and Carries and some videos of a rescue simulation are also provided.
“Community Development and Community Organizing” is for chapter five. The first lesson discusses what community development is all about. It helps us be aware of why there is a need for community development and how to go about it. The second discusses how to apply the theories and concepts of community development into action through community organizing. This chapter made us ready for our fieldworks as we go and be part of a community to help other people.
And we are down to the last and most important chapter entitled “Project Management and Development.” Because we will be having our fieldworks, it is important to know how to create a program or a project and how to execute to put community development into practice. Project management includes the following phases: Assessment, Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation. NSTP encourages us to develop and manage project that will enrich the community and empower them to stand on their own. We are there to help the community develop self reliance, widen their knowledge, increase their skills for competency, share and learn their compassion. And because our group is taking up LTS (short for Literacy Training Service) the chapter helped us prepare how and what will we teach to our learners.
Thank you, e-Reads, for making our NSTP learning possible and easier!
