National Service Training Program aims to promote and integrate values education, transformational leadership, spirit of patriotism, nationalism and sustainable social mobilization for youth development, community building and national security. In our case, we chose to promote values education under the program of LTS (Literary Training Service), because we believe that the youth has an important role in nation building.

After months of learning the proper etiquette in conversing with other people in any level of society, we were finally able to show to others what we have learned through our fieldwork in a small community of Palili in Bataan, where our goal is to teach, and help grade students to understand their lessons to prepare them in their future examinations.

On the 11th day of January 2014, our section arrived at Palili Elementary School located at Gugo, Samal, Bataan to conduct our very much anticipated first fieldwork. The atmosphere around this humble public school was placid and calm - you can really even hear the breeze of the cool wind. After taking in our new environment, we entered the school grounds where we saw that the school is only small compared to what we are used to. Still, it has very homey vibes, and the size of vicinity is only enough to cater for their students.

Our head conductor, Miss Espinosa entrusted to us six Grade 3 students for us to teach namely, Bemy, Henry, Remy, Jay-r, Leny and John. It is quite interesting and exciting to teach the students that were given to us because we can see their welcoming and bubbly personalities in the way they are interacting with us. After welcoming the students and introducing ourselves, we began explaining to them our purpose in coming to their school. Subsequently, we gave them some worksheets on General Science to answer. With that, we learned how wide their knowledge is about the subject matter and how much assistance we need to give them.

First, we let them answer the questions on their own so that they can practice their comprehension skills when it comes to questions written in English. If there are terms that they don't understand, students willingly ask us and we gladly answer it. Once they are done answering the questions, one by one we translate and explain to them what is the meaning of the questions and why the correct answer is the best answer to the given question.
