Calls for Service
A
CALL FOR SERVICE (CFS) represents one incident or situation that was initiated by or brought to the
attention of the Garner Police Department and was handled through the application of departmental
resources. Calls for service originate from citizens (citizen-initiated CFS) and police officers patrolling
the community (officer-initiated CFS). Calls for service vary in nature, severity, and the level of departmental
resources required to address them—particularly about the number of staff members and the staff time required
to adequately and appropriately handle the call for service. The chart below illustrates annual calls for service
over a five-year period.
