SPECIAL EVENTS
Big Sweep / Litter Sweep
Help keep Garner clean and green by removing litter from our parks , roadways , and streams . Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and bring drinking water and sun protection . Clean-up equipment will be provided . Report to the Holly Shelter to receive equipment . Pre-registration is strongly encouraged . On-site registration begins at 8:45am .
Memorial Day Observance
Honor those who have died while serving our country in the armed forces . Guided tours of the Garner Veterans Memorial will be conducted before the event and after its conclusion . This free event is co-sponsored by Garner Veterans Advisory Committee . Attendees should bring their own seating .

Egg hunts are for ages 0-12 and will begin promptly at the designated times below . Be sure to arrive early enough to get a spot . Pets are not permitted . |

Friday Family Flicks
Join Garner Parks , Recreation & Cultural Resources for a free outdoor movie on the big screen . Free activities will be offered one hour prior to the start of the movie . The movies will begin at the specified start time below . Concessions will also be available for purchase . In case of rain , the event will be held at the same time on the following day . Don ’ t forget your lawn chairs or blankets !
Independence Day Celebration
Mark your calendars for a free evening of fun for the whole family . Enjoy delicious food and great music while your children play in the kids ’ zone . Top it all off with a headlining performance by the North Carolina Symphony and the best fireworks show in the Triangle ! The following are not permitted : pets , alcoholic beverages , glass containers , grills , fireworks / sparklers , tailgating , tents / canopies / large umbrellas , drones , and soliciting .
