for its beautiful rivers , glaciated mountains ,

SPANISH DEVELOPMENT
This portion of our program provides an
intimate look at Chilean culture through visits
with carefully selected families in the Simpson

Week 4-6
RIO BAKER & PARQUE PATAGONIA
Students spend 12 days paddling down the
Rio Baker . Midway through our trip , we will
stop at an active ranch , only accessible by

In the small mountain town of Cerro Castillo , students are placed with homestay families , while working with a high school program focused on training young Chilean guides . These aspiring guides are excited to teach our students about local flora and fauna , as well as Cerro Castillo National |
After a multi-day backpacking trip through world-renowned Cerro Castillo National Park , students travel to Futaleufu , known to be the whitewater capital of Chile . Our time in
Futaleufu is spent exploring this quaint town , kayaking , hiking , and learning about local environmental and social justice initiatives

As our trip winds down , we travel to coastal
Chaiten to spend time honoring the incredible adventure we have had . We explore the beaches of Santa Barbara , hike through
Pumalin National Park , or climb to the summit crater of Volcan Chaiten ( we celebrate the end of our program with a graduation asado !).
