It looks like with Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo is really switching up the Mario formula. Much like Breath of the Wild brought Zelda back to its more open, NES roots, Mario Odyssey looks to be bringing 3D Mario back to the more open-ended, mission-centered formula of Mario 64.
