Every streamer big or small has difficulties in the Twitch community. Important elements of streaming include maintaining focus, keeping a schedule, having the energy to want to stream every day. Guidroz believes the hardest challenge of them all is maintaining consistency of the stream while also staying energetic.
“I think it is important for consistency, but you know like everything in communication, it’s nice to have a tough skin,” Guidroz stated. “Having a tough skin also means ‘I may stream and in two weeks of progress get a maximum viewership of three viewers and maybe one follower,’ but do not be discouraged by certain streams and keep at it.”
Guidroz explained timing and maintaining a schedule are also key factors to keeping up a successful stream. “You have to keep consistency. If people see that you stream, you upload, you do whatever, only a certain number of days a week, or a month, or after a year, viewers see that, and I think that they feel more inclined to want to come back to your channel if that consistent schedule is not there.”
Twitch streamers have a beginning goal and dream to follow. They want recognition and a name to be known. With non stop hard work, Tyler Guidroz a 21 Year Old senior and director has achieved more than most. Thekeyblademaster326 is his twitch name and while he mainly streams Call of Duty Black Ops zombies, he still holds the world record of 9th place on the Black Ops 3 world leaderboard. He is also ranked in the top five Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 streamers.
“I think that was my biggest success,” said Guidroz. “I was streaming Call of Duty Black Ops 3 zombies in January of 2018 about two hours in, and a guy that has been in my streams a lot says ‘hey, you should check the black ops 3 game page, you’re in the top five streamers for zombies.” “I thought he was kidding, but when I looked and I had 25 to 30 viewers, and I was the top fifth Black Ops 3 zombies.”
Guidroz has been streaming since 2016 and while maintaining activity, he is now affiliated with Twitch and has over 174 followers.
“I started streaming probably around two years ago,” Guidroz stated. “I was not really into streaming when I started because I thought streaming is an event people go to for streamers who make videos and create content do every often.”
Guidroz continued to stream and learned that there was more to streaming than meets the eye. He realized youtubers, he watched streamed and he wanted to generate more content for his audience.
