With an October 2016 release date, Battlefield 1 is getting a lot of hype. I believe most of the hype is coming from those who disliked the fact that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is taking a space and futuristic direction. In contrast, Battlefield 1 has decided to set this game during the First World War. In my opinion, this direction is a bit risky since many of the new gamers are not necessarily interested in a game based on the past. On the other hand, more experienced gamers might migrate to this game since it gives them a chance to reminisce about other games like older Call of Duty games, Medal of Honor games, among others.
To be completely honest, EA's and DICE's FPS games have never peeked my interest since all the games I've had a chance to play have a few aspects that I do not like. Some of those aspects are:
Random Spawns
Limited Character Customization
Limited Competitiveness Aspect
The Maps are too Big
Games have too many Players (32 vs 32)
Vehicles
(Video From Battlefield Channel)
Some may argue that I don't like these things because I lack the necessary skills to use or learn these things, but the truth is I get easily bored with this games since some things lack skill to use like using a tank and others really just make the game move way too slow. Having a map for 64 people can mean two things, many gun engagements or a lot of places to hide and stay till the game ends. In many games it's the latter, people just wait till someone passes by. I don't really mind that, I understand some people use that strategy but with a map so big the game starts to take way too long to the point I lose interest.
