The Oculus Rift "Crystal Cove" wins the 2014's best of CES-Award

OculusVR earned more prestige with their brand new prototype for the virtual reality system Oculus Rift earned the reward for most impressive gadget in 2014's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

This year’s attention was centered on wearable gadgets all the way from wrist and headbands that keeps track of your pulse, to smart watches that record your activities and share them with the world. Even though the Oculus Rift is a rather static device compared to the previously mentioned ones and it was able make it’s way to first place with the virtual reality system if offers.

The competition consisted of bigger firms such as Google, presenting the newest version of their Google Glasses, however developers were able to impress the CES Committe once again in order to keep the title of Best of CES for another year after winning the same award in 2013 with the Oculus Rift Developer Kit, both in the International Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2 year-old company, OculusVR, has rocket-jumped from an estimated value of 2 million USD after the release of Oculus Rift Developer Kit, to a value of almost 90 million USD when the Crystal Cove version was first announced on December 2013, according to Engadget's review of the events.
