MANITOBANS IN THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS

to the Post-Season
JONATHAN TOEWS
Jonathan Toews is not only one of the
best players in the National Hockey
League, he’s a winner. Big time.
He has three Stanley Cup rings
already and right now there is a
legitimate chance he could grab his
fourth. As a dozen or so Manitoba
players, including Mark and Michael
Stone, Colin Wilson, Cody McLeod
and Micheal Ferland, battle for a
spot in the NHL’s post-season,
Toews leads the way – both
historically and currently.

2017 PLAYOFF EDITION
NEW YORK, N.Y. - Walk into any National
Hockey League dressing room with only weeks
left to play in the regular season and strike up a
conversation about the playoffs and you’ll quickly
clear the room.
Even for teams with a lock on a post-season
berth, the subject is almost taboo or considered
the forbidden fruit of locker room topics.
Understandably, players are reluctant to discuss
the matter because it’s not the reality they exist
in that day. When the time comes, sure bring on
the questions, but until the time actually arrives it’s
akin to asking a player for an exclusive interview on
today’s politics.
So with that in mind we take a look at the notable
Manitobans who are playoff-bound this spring, es-
pecially those with a plausible chance at winning
the Stanley Cup.
And don’t let their reluctance to talk about the
playoffs leading up them diminish their desire to
hoist hockey’s most prized trophy in June.
