CANADA GAMES SPORT FOR LIFE TRAINING CENTRE Elite Hockey a Big Part of the new Canada Games Sport for Life Training Centre By Scott Taylor Photos by Jeff Miller and Sport Manitoba JEFF WOOD I ON ICE WITH JEFF WOOD 52 GAME ON 2017 PLAYOFF EDITION t will be called the Canada Games Sport for Life Training Centre and for longtime hockey high performance training spe- cialist Jeff Wood, it’s one of the most excit- ing times in Manitoba sports history. Located adjacent to the Sport Manitoba at 145 Pacific, the Centre will be a 200,000 square foot facility that will not only be home to Manitoba’s Provincial Teams, many of the province’s National-level and professional athletes and the general public, it will also be the home of a serious hockey training pro- gram for Manitoba’s most elite players. “This place will be awesome” said Wood, who has more than 20 years of athlete train- ing experience. “We have a great team of coaches, top of the line equipment and a fantastic new training centre. We believe this will be the best training facility in the prov- ince. Our programs will use the latest in tech-
