Ten years ago, the Peguis Juniors of the
Keystone Junior Hockey League were
dealt an agonizing blow. Their arena in
Peguis was destroyed by fire, forcing the
Juniors to play home games outside of
their community for seven years. Since
then, the Juniors have risen from the
ashes in spectacular fashion, winning
three of the past five KJHL champion-
ships. On April 8, a 6-1 win over the
Arborg Ice Dawgs sealed a second
straight KJHL title for Peguis, a team
that was also Manitoba’s top Junior B
club in 2013.
