As Lundar Falcons forward
and team captain Landon
Gray steps on the ice, to him,
everything looks very familiar.
Due to delays in the
construction of the new arena
in Lundar (located 125 km
northwest of Winnipeg),
the Keystone Junior Hockey
League club is travelling 80
km southeast to play all of
their home games this season
at Sunova Arena in Warren.
For Gray, he is lighting the
lamp this season, just as he
had done in both his minor
and high school hockey days
on the very same ice surface.
“It kind of feels like a
throwback,” Gray said.
Despite playing only
15 games due to work
commitments, Gray is sixth in

the KJHL in goals scored with
28, almost twice as much as
Lundar’s second-leading goal
scorer Zach Bone (15 goals
in 26 games). The Falcons
captain also has 12 assists for
40 points and an eye-popping
2.67 points-per-game.
