an opportunity to ask questions, receive autographs, and take pictures, but also to be inspired by the players journey to professional hockey. Josh Morrissey, Nic Petan, Anthony Peluso, and Nelson Nogier have all participated in meet and greets with WJHA kids, each bringing something unique and special to the conversation.“ To hear the excitement the kids have when I tell them about how I got into professional hockey, it keeps me grounded and is a reminder of why I started playing in the first place.” said Nogier, a defenseman for the Moose. This season is Nogier’ s first year playing professional hockey and he has already realized the importance of connecting with young fans.“ Win or lose, I think it’ s important to connect with our young fans after the game, especially the ones who play hockey,” Nogier continued.“ Showing how you handle the pressure, the ups and downs, I think it speaks to the type of person you are, on and off the rink.”“ The players are inspirational to the kids and hearing their story gives them motivation to dream bigger,” said Dwayne Green, Executive Director of the True North Foundation. The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club is committed to supporting efforts of the True North Youth Foundation that have a positive impact in the community and look forward to hosting many more meets and greets as the season continues. n
