STORY FROM LIFE ON
THE ROAD IN THE WHL?
BL Well back in Swift Current
we were leaving the rink
one night and our bus just
wouldn’t start. We later
heard on the news that it was
actually the coldest place
in the world on that night.
To tell you the truth, it was
minus 54. When we finally
got back on the road it turns
out that the bus had no heat.
When we arrived back home,
our cars wouldn’t start, so
we all had to call cabs. That
was definitely a story from
Junior that I’ll never forget.

BL You just have to be de-
fensive. The goal is to block
the shots, so don’t let them
through. You will have to
sacrifice yourself so that those
pucks don’t find a way to the
back of your net. You just
have to play hard, that’s all it
is; have a good attitude about
it, as penalty killing is a very
important part of the game.

BL I sure do. Golf is a hobby
of mine that I have always
liked. I actually worked at
Pine Ridge Golf Course out in
my area when I was younger.
My mom lives right down the
street, so I’d just walk there
to work, plus I had a free
membership – I actually still
play golf there for free. ❍
