Published and developed by Square Enix LEFT ALIVE has been in development for some time, being initially revealed in Japan during the 2017 Tokyo Game Show, since then we have been curious about the direction of this brand-new survival action shooter, which has been announced for the PlayStation 4 and STEAM in 2019. What we know so far is that veteran developers Toshifumi Nabeshima (director, Armored Core series), Yoji Shinkawa (character designer, METAL GEAR series), and Takayuki Yanase (mech designer, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Xenoblade Chronicles X) have collectively united their talents in an effort to create LEFT ALIVE’s dark and gritty world. LEFT ALIVE tells a human story of survival from the perspective of three different protagonists during the devastating invasion set in war-torn Novo Slava in 2127. Players take control of the games varying perspectives which are entertwined within a massive power gap between man and machine in pulse-pounding encounters. From each character engaging narrative, players will be forced face off against powerfully armed troops, armored vehicles and towering mechs. Because of the alternating characters player will be able to significantly choose their refered playing style: engage in frenetic gun battles or dispatch your enemies with stealth and wit. Set traps, collect and craft consumables to survive while exploring a devastated city ravaged by the atrocities of war. With each character approach players are encouragd to uncover the full story behind the war through the eyes of three different characters. As you progress through the game, multiple yet thought-provoking story paths, each requiring bold decisions with desperate consequences are presented. So far, Square Enix has been tight-lipped about leaking any information on LEFT ALIVE. While our current intel offers some interesting tidbits, more exciting is the notion that veteran developer icons such as Toshifumi Nabeshima, Yoji Shinkawa and Takayuki Yanase have joined forces to bring this passio project to light. Digging a bit deeper about the games future platform offerings and at the moment LEFT ALIVE is only slated to launch for the PlayStation 4 and PC via STEAM as a simultaneous launch. We of course would not all together count out the Xbox One version, however at this point we do not expect the potential of an Xbox One version to launch alongside it PS4 and STEAM counterparts, if ever.
