It is seven months after the events in Manhattan.
The long winter, the snowy streets of New York,
and the holidays are now behind us. However,
tensions are the highest they have ever been, as the
Dollar Flu penetrated the eastern coast and ravaged
one of the most iconic cities on American soil. At the
same time, the summer sun is blazing, the heat is
palpable, and as time goes by nature has started to
take back the city.
If the capital falls, the entire nation falls with it.
This is a call-to-action, Agent. Welcome to
Washington, D.C.
The Division 2's Washington, D.C. is a 1:1
recreation of the renowned capital of the United
States. Authenticity has been key to deliver a unique
visual experience within the world of The Division 2,
and you will be excited to recognize historical
landmarks and monuments, devastated by the
surrounding chaos, as you move through the city.
Nature has taken its toll since the virus broke out,
with flooded and overgrown areas that you will have
to navigate through. Open, residential
neighborhoods with longer sight lines and wider city
blocks contrast with dense commercial areas.
The overarching power struggle between Division
Agents and enemy factions provides an opportunity
to create dynamic gameplay elements that transform
the city into a living, breathing world. You will
engage in back-and-forth conflicts over strategic
checkpoints in an attempt to re-establish order and
develop new strategies based on the varied terrain as
nature degrades and erodes the environment.
The civilians of the city have banded together in
settlements, places of refuge that are now under
siege. A civil war is looming, and The Division – you –
will have to make sure that doesn't happen. In The
Division 2, the city is not only the backdrop - it's a
character in itself.
CHARACTERS
While your character is new in The Division 2, they
are not new to the Strategic Homeland Division. You
are already an established Agent within the
organization, harnessing the same skillset and
abilities as those activated before you. You fight for
the continuity of government during cases of
catastrophic emergency, and this distress call is
unlike any that has come before.
Trained and empowered by presidential order, you
are called to prevent the fall of society and the
nation tearing itself apart. Your mission: unite the
civilians by working hand in hand with D.C.'s
survivors before it becomes the center of a new Civil
War. Agents will pursue an active role in the
rebuilding of D.C., helping residents and eliminating
those who threaten the stability of the entire country.
ENDGAME
Ubisoft is building the post-level 30 adventure with
an "endgame first" philosophy in mind, introducing a
range of innovative activities on Day One. The fun
does not stop once you reach level cap. In fact,
things are just getting started. The first leg in your
end-game progression journey begins by choosing a
Specialization after completing the main campaign.
Specializations are a brand new character
progression system that places both loadout
customization and raw power in your hands as the
player. The most iconic feature associated with
Specializations is Signature Weapons—powerful
firearms that will definitely leave a mark on those
standing in your way. The three Specializations
available at launch are:
The Sharpshooter
Unlocks a powerful .50 caliber sniper rifle and a set
of tool mods and skills tree allowing to change the
tide of a firefight even from afar.
The Demolitionist
Unlocks a destructive grenade launcher along tools
and skills focusing on disrupting enemy plans and
entrenched positions.
The Survivalist
Unlocks a precision custom crossbow firing
exploding bolts and tools and skills that leave little
chance for enemies to recover after being hit.
With a wide range of activities available at endgame,
including the challenging 8 man raids, you will need
to practice your skills. Choosing a Specialization
gives you the tools necessary to adapt your role to
any forward-facing challenge. Equip the loadout that
suits the situation best, leverage the competition,
and prepare your assault!
