Rising Middle School Spotlight on
Marlon Miller, Jr.
Marlon Miller Jr. is a 5th
grader at East Lake Ele-
mentary School in Mc-
Donough Ga. He is a model
student and leader, always
setting an example for the
younger students as well as
his fellow classmates. As a
kindergartener, he won the
Poetry Recitation Competi-
tion school wide and went
on to represent his school
in the regional competition.
He has been on the Princi-
pal’s Honor Roll through-
out his tenure at East Lake
Elementary. He is also
constantly recognized for
outstanding citizenship,
responsibility, and behav-
ior. From 2015-16, his art
work was selected and
show cased in the Super-
intendent’s Art gallery in
the Henry County Board
of Education building. In
2017, he was invited and
inducted into the National
Junior Beta Club. Though
Marlon has high academics
and is very artistic, his true
passion is playing soccer.
He has been playing since
he was 3 years old and
is sometimes referred to
as the young Pele’ of his
generation… constantly
recognized for his speed on
