Are You Informed?
by Shana Thornton
Let's be frank. You have
one busy life. Some of
your activities are neces-
sary and some are likely
not. It's fine either way
because you probably
scramble for time just
to check on loved ones.
Time is a precious com-
modity that should not
be taken for granted. On
top of everything else to
do, there is the daunting
notion to stay informed
with all of the trending
news stories. There is
no shortage of trend-
ing news stories. Let's
be frank. It's easier and
often more convenient
to catch news on the go.
Trust me, I identify with
the concept. unbeknownst listeners.
People will share infor-
mation without knowing
the validity behind it. I
believe we must try to be
responsible when sharing
information. This concept
applies to information
delivered in the various
forms of communica-
tions. No format is more
relevant now than social
media. We are all allowed
to run our own separate
social media pages but
hopefully we are deci-
phering through credible
news. Staying informed is
good but being informed
with the facts is amaz-
ingly eye-opening. Know
your sources.
Yet the new focus on fake
news is actually an old
concept. False informa-
tion has already found
its way into the ears of Shana Thornton is an
