Community Spotlight:
Simeon Nunnally
Mr. Simeon
Nunnally was
born in Atlan-
ta, Georgia
on May 4,
1988 as the
youngest of
three children
to Mrs. Sonya
Favors, and
Mr. Samuel
H. Nunnally.
At a very
young age
Mr. Nunnally
showed early
leadership on
the football
field partic-
ipation in
little league
sports with
the Tuck-
er Football
League. He was a mem-
ber of the first graduating
class of Miller Grove High

School, and in November
2007, after recognizing
his patriotic responsibility
Mr. Nunnally joined the
U. S. Army serving with
the 501st Military Police
Company, stationed abroad
in Weisbaden, Germany.
He served with distinction
during Operation Iraqi
Freedom from December
2009 through June of 2010,
where he received (2) Army
Achievement Medal and
(2) Certificates of Achieve-
ments and two Unit Cita-
tions.
After retuning at the
completion of his military
obligation Mr. Nunnally
recognized the need for
an organization to assist
veterans dealing the many
ailments that affected re-
turning veterans and their
families. Mr. Nunnally, at
the young age of 26, de-
cided to start the nonprofit
“Return to Duty of America
Inc.” which is a 501(c)3
Designed to address the
issues of homelessness
and support services for
displaced and transitioning
veterans. Mr. Nunnally
was offered a position on
the CEO advisory board in
Baltimore, Maryland, but
turn the position down due
to political commitments.
He was appointed by Henry
County District 2 com-
missioner, Dee Clemmons
(the first African American
elected female commission-
er for district 2) to the zon-
ing and advisory board in
2017. He also co-authored
the Christian Poetry book
‘staying focused’, and is
presently work on a second
release.
Mr. Nunnally’s goals are
to propel Return to Duty
of America Inc. into the
forerunning organization
aiding transitioning veter-
ans in the United States,
and establishing it as one
stop veterans’ assistance
network. He would also to
pursue additional and better
benefits for veterans in the
state of Georgia.
