From the womb Macaiah Finley has always been
different. An ultrasound video at 21 weeks shows
her in the womb with her legs crossed and if that
weren?t enough she was born in to this world
laughing instead of crying. In the hospital, several
nurses came to see the laughing baby girl born on
October 23rd at 5:00 am.
Since that time she has always had an effervescent
personality that lights up a room. At 3 she began
dance at Atlanta Dance Core where she was taught
ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern and liturgical dance.
She was a natural and caught on quickly. Macaiah
began Kindergarten at 4 years old and had no
problem keeping up with the curriculum nor being a
social butterfly in the classroom. By the time she
neared the end of her 1st grade year, her teacher
suggested to her mom to let her audition for
Jackson Elementary Magnet Performing Arts School
and by the 2nd grade she was in! Some notable
plays she has performed in are Mulan Jr and Aladdin
Jr and in a county wide audition of over 200
students she was one of 20 selected to perform in
Fame Jr. Macaiah has also done other school-based
snippets of plays throughout elementary and
middle school. She has had film editing, sound and
technical training and taken acting and audition
workshops with Actor ?s Breakthrough under Greg
Alan Williams (Greenleaf).
Macaiah was a cheerleader for two years at Rex
Mills Middle STEM and discovered she her passion
for singing, painting and for drawing and creating
Shojo (a Japanese art style) characters. She plays the
viola and has also begun teaching herself guitar.
Macaiah currently is in her first year of high school
where she attends Martha E Stilwell School of the
Arts where her major special is Theater with a minor
in Art. In between all of this, Macaiah is currently
fleshing out a book about a young girl on an
adventure to find her purpose. Macaiah dreams of
being on the stage singing or acting as well as being
a graphic illustrator!
Who says you can?t have it all? Her response? With
God all things are possible!!
