Risin g St ar M acaiah Fin ley From the womb Macaiah Finley has always been different. An ultrasound video at 21 weeks shows her in the womb with her legs crossed and if that weren?t enough she was born in to this world laughing instead of crying. In the hospital, several nurses came to see the laughing baby girl born on October 23rd at 5:00 am. Since that time she has always had an effervescent personality that lights up a room. At 3 she began dance at Atlanta Dance Core where she was taught ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern and liturgical dance. She was a natural and caught on quickly. Macaiah began Kindergarten at 4 years old and had no problem keeping up with the curriculum nor being a social butterfly in the classroom. By the time she neared the end of her 1st grade year, her teacher suggested to her mom to let her audition for Jackson Elementary Magnet Performing Arts School and by the 2nd grade she was in! Some notable plays she has performed in are Mulan Jr and Aladdin Jr and in a county wide audition of over 200 students she was one of 20 selected to perform in Fame Jr. Macaiah has also done other school-based snippets of plays throughout elementary and middle school. She has had film editing, sound and technical training and taken acting and audition workshops with Actor ?s Breakthrough under Greg Alan Williams (Greenleaf). Macaiah was a cheerleader for two years at Rex Mills Middle STEM and discovered she her passion for singing, painting and for drawing and creating Shojo (a Japanese art style) characters. She plays the viola and has also begun teaching herself guitar. Macaiah currently is in her first year of high school where she attends Martha E Stilwell School of the Arts where her major special is Theater with a minor in Art. In between all of this, Macaiah is currently fleshing out a book about a young girl on an adventure to find her purpose. Macaiah dreams of being on the stage singing or acting as well as being a graphic illustrator! Who says you can?t have it all? Her response? With God all things are possible!! 9
