Being a lover of history, I was excited when Shelly and I made a turn into the Chagaramas Military History and Aerospace Museum. I have not been to this place since I was a child with my parents. However, viewing this museum as an adult, I saw everything from a fresh perspective. The vehicles and the old weaponry that are located in the front seemed so much larger back then. Today, the BWIA plane still towers over everything and everyone as if it is boasting of its magnificence. Sadly, everything has been weathered by age and its vulnerability to the environment. Thus, you can imagine how difficult it was to convince Shelly how wonderful and exciting this place is and how much history is saturated in the grounds of this amazing place.

For some a museum may not be the most exciting of places to go on an adventure or galavant with friends. Despite this, I was able to convince my dear friend how exciting history can really be and with a little bit of imagination we had a lot of fun. We were able to interact with the pieces on display, with permission of course and imagine ourselves in a time in which these pieces of machinery were used. This museum makes for an excellent adventure for anyone who is curious about Trinidad and Tobago's military past. It is also a great place for children to learn about their ancestors and the sacrifices made to ensure the freedom of generations to come.
