LONDON, ENGLAND SEPTEMBER 19 - 27, 2015 GARRYOWEN, ANTHONY’S AND GABRIELS WIN LONDON TITLES London GAA saw plenty of exciting action last weekend Sept 27th when three finals were decided, one a league decider along with two big football championship matches, and the good sized crowd at Irish TV Grounds, Ruislip did not go home disappointed. The league game was the Hurling Division 1 League final featuring the form teams and city rivals Kilburn Gaels and St. Gabriels, while the two championships matches saw in football St. Clarets and St. Anthony’s in the junior decider and Garryowen and St. Joseph’s in the intermediate final. JUNIOR SEMIS REPLAY Determining the outcome of the junior final was a little bit more complicated than the others in that both semis had ended in draws so the replays to decide the championship pairing took place the previous weekend at Ruislip. St. Anthony’s took on the young all London side Tir Chonaill Gaels. The latter dominated the early going racing into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead. A goal however before half time brought St. Anthony’s right back into the mix. Tir Chonaill Gaels were second best in the second half and could only add two further points while Anthony’s got another major and picked off their points for a 2-5 to 0-7 victory. 30 In the second semi replay St. Carets had a deserving 2-6 to 1-4 win over a disappointing Eire Og. ST. ANTHONY’S THRILLING COMEBACK Sunday’s final between St. Clarets and St. Anthony’s was a close one to call with perhaps the former side just the slightest of favourites. In the early stages this was a dogged affair with little in the way of free flowing football. Wides were all too frequent but by the end of the first quarter it was the St. Clarets side who had a three point advantage 1-1 to 0-1. And by the half they had extended the lead slightly by 1-4 to St. Antho-
