GARRYOWEN, ANTHONY’S AND
GABRIELS WIN LONDON TITLES
London GAA saw plenty of exciting
action last weekend Sept 27th when
three finals were decided, one a league
decider along with two big football
championship matches, and the good
sized crowd at Irish TV Grounds,
Ruislip did not go home disappointed.
The league game was the Hurling
Division 1 League final featuring the
form teams and city rivals Kilburn
Gaels and St. Gabriels, while the two
championships matches saw in football St. Clarets and St. Anthony’s in the
junior decider and Garryowen and St.
Joseph’s in the intermediate final.

JUNIOR SEMIS REPLAY
Determining the outcome of the junior final was a little bit
more complicated than the others in that both semis had ended in draws so the replays to decide the championship pairing

dominated the early going racing into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead. A goal
however before half time brought St. Anthony’s right back into
the mix. Tir Chonaill Gaels were second best in the second half
and could only add two further points while Anthony’s got another major and picked off their points for a 2-5 to 0-7 victory.

In the second semi replay St. Carets had a deserving 2-6 to 1-4
win over a disappointing Eire Og.
ST. ANTHONY’S THRILLING COMEBACK
Sunday’s final between St. Clarets and St. Anthony’s was a
close one to call with perhaps the former side just the slightest
of favourites. In the early stages this was a dogged affair with
little in the way of free flowing football. Wides were all too
frequent but by the end of the first quarter it was the St. Clarets
side who had a three point advantage 1-1 to 0-1. And by the
