Things continued in this vein after the restart when Clarets
increased the lead to 8 points and looked in a good position
to win the game.
But the final quarter belonged to St. Anthony’s. Upped their
performance they began to kick over points and a 24th minute
goal saw them in with a chance of famous come-back victory. St. Clarets had completely lost their way while Anthony’s
trailed by three points heading into the final minutes. St. Anthony’s, reeled in the deficit to level and in the final throw of
the dice kicked the winning score of this year’s London junior
championship 1-9 to 1-8 bringing the title west of London to
Reading.

The two best sides in this year’s intermediate
football championship St. Joseph’s and Garryowen then took to the field. This one was
also hard to call as Garryowen had impressed
through the championship while St. Joe’s as
they are known, had also performed well and
were already double cup winners. Playing with
the aid of a breeze, Garryowen found their
rhythm faster and led by 0-4 to 0-2 at the end
of the first quarter. It went point for point from
then to the half time whistle with Garryowen
ahead by 0-7 to 0-5. Garryowen kicked some
