On Saturday last, June 14, twelve teams representing four different clubs descended on
Onion Creek Sports Complex in Austin Texas
for the 2014 Texas Gaelic Football Finals.
The growing popularity in recent years of
Gaelic sports throughout the vast state of Texas meant that this was the biggest State Championship to date. Over 200 players took part
in the competition with an equal amount of
enthusiastic supporters on the sidelines. This
year’s finals in Austin was a first for Ladies
Football also as we had the first ever Texas
Ladies Championship decider with the local
Austin ladies team taking on rivals Dallas in
the tournament opener.
