Camogie Champions Indianapolis. Photo Indy GAA. CAMOGIE We had four teams in action in Camogie - St. Mary’s from Chicago, St. Louis, Indy and a selection from Naperville, Tennessee, and Atlanta. This event brought a victory for the home side Indy. They got their toughest match early on against St. Louis but after that it was cruise control for the hosts as they went through the competition unbeaten. Their opponent in the final was the combo side of Nashville, Tennessee and Atlanta with the home team coming out best. This annual tournament has been taking place since 2007, 16 and Indy GAA secretary Brian Mathes, said that this year’s event was one of the most successful to date played on state of the art pitches. “This tournament was terrific from top to bottom. The fields were absolutely gorgeous and all the teams commented that this was amongst the best fields that they had played in the United States and perhaps even in Ireland. The setup was terrific with 44 games on 5 different fields,” said Mathes.
