SOMETHING TO PLAY FOR
In fact, there has been a fair bit of
needle in the two rounds played
to date and a fair mixture of cards,
black, yellow and red – so somebody
cares. Even at this early stage, some
sides are already dreading relegation,
others have an eye on the top spots,
while there are a few who hope they
will at least make the middle of the
table. Ambitions differ, but there are
a lot of points still to be won or lost,
so don’t rush to the bookies just yet.
There will be a plethora of exciting
games ahead, with most teams participating at a level into which they
nicely slot, while everyone has something to play for, even if it’s to stay off
the bottom of Division IV.
GATEWAY
As the weeks pass teams will be
leap-frogging each other, either up
or down, while scoring differences
may decide the fate of many a side.
After all the see-sawing, will there be
any change in the names already being tossed about for the Championship Quarter Finals? How exciting it
would be to see some team from the
two lower divisions make a real impression and upset the apple cart in
the Summer.
Of course every team has that ambition and everyone is entitled to
dream. So the Allianz League is important, it could be the gateway to a
long Summer.
