READY FOR THE OFF
The venue for the GAA World Games is the Zayed Sports
Center which is a vast complex featuring different sporting
facilities. There is a 50,000 stadium and this is surrounded by
14 other pitches [soccer & rugby] where the World Games
will take place. All is in readiness ahead of the first match.
Middle East GAA Chairman James Kennedy and Secretary, Paddy Darcy have been the driving force for this initiative over the past year going back a further two before
that. Along with their committee, they have left no stone unturned and have put in an incredible amount of work getting
things ready.
After the tournament launch in December Kennedy told the
magazine of the significance of this event.
