Administrative Law
Represents the City in proceedings challenging the legality and constitutionality of laws, regulations and administrative decisions
that promote and protect public health and safety. Division attorneys also bring civil actions to obtain compliance with
regulatory requirements, and prosecute violations of the City’s laws and regulations in Criminal Court. The division has defended
recent challenges to zoning restrictions on billboards, to the requirement that chain restaurants provide calorie information on
menus, to the Noise Code provisions applicable to rock clubs, to administrative orders authorizing rent increases under the Rent
