Q) What is Industrial Engineering ?
A) Industrial Engineering is a multi-disciplinary kind of engineering wherein the engineer must percolate the job of an engineer as well as a manager. The main desideratum of an industrial engineer is to take care of all the resources like machines, man-power, methods, time and management of resouces. earlier these were taken care by the mechanical engineers and they were not reaching the mark. As a connoisseur is requiered for the ascendancy of any job an Industrial engineer would be the indispenable person for the accomplishment of a task at province of work. Indusrtial engineering mainly concentrates on the concept of optimization. An industrial engineer is an person with both engineering as well as managerial knowledge which makes him discrepant from other engineers.
Q) What is the scope of Industrial engineering in India ?
A) Every developing country obligates industrial engineers. The domain of an industrial engineer would be managing and optimizing the resources of an industry. People say there is no news of job openings for production engineers in South India. This is because in south India, companies fill the posts for production engineers with mechanical engineers. This doesn't mean they do not take production engineers. It is just due to lack of production engineers. This is because there is just less colleges in south India which gives production B.Tech degree. But in north India companies need only production engineers to fill production posts. So scope is not less because you can fill both production and mechanical posts. Its best to get work experience of 2 years in a company and then try for a job abroad.
