As soon as the image of a spaceship is projected into our mind, the first thing that pops is, “Wow! Space! Then, we make a stupid face and ask ourselves, “Wait a minute. Are we alone?”
To answer this question, many brilliant minds have come forward with awesome results like, “YES”, “NO” and “Aw hell! Who cares!”
Thirty six years after it was launched from Florida, ‘The Voyager’ has still not been able to collect any evidence of higher existence. It sucks, I know but it was successfully able to complete the mission it was sent for so no hard feelings, right?
Although Voyager program was actually developed to study the planetary systems of Jupiter and Saturn, the space probes were able to continue their mission and the lucky bastard (Voyager-I) became the first man-made object as of this year to travel to the previously unexplored regions of space, i.e. the interstellar space (the cold region where particles from our sun stops and remnants of ancient exploded stars begin).
It has travelled 12 billion miles away from home and it sent its last picture thirteen years ago just before shutting down its camera to conserve power. Here’s what it sent 13 years back . . .
See that cute little blue dot on
the right side? That’s earth! Seen
from 6 billion kilometers. Amazing,
huh?
