SCHS has started a number of programs like “ Takeout Tuesday ” during which shelter dogs get to leave the Humane Society for a few hours to enjoy a day out . The “ Reading Buddies ” program gives children the opportunity to read to the animals and is done during the summer and over long school breaks . The humane society also hosts on-site pet adoptions the second and fourth Saturday of each month at Petco in Lawton .
The society asks people consider the long-term financial implications and responsibilities – such as veterinarian visits , vaccinations , food , supplies and care – before adopting a new family member . For more information , call 580-252-7387 .

From birthday parties for kids to monthly dinners for widows , the Beautiful Day Foundation , established in 2013 , has made their way throughout Oklahoma .

Red and white boxes around Stephens County and most of Oklahoma , deemed “ Blessing Boxes ” help provide food for many who would normally go without . Established before the pandemic by Dr . Kim Weaver and Rose Massey , RN , the boxes are open to anyone needing food and are run off of volunteer support and donations .

The program NON-PROFITS celebrates over 8,000 students and their birthdays across Oklahoma , although it originated in Stephens County .
After establishing a program for children , the entity then moved on to establish the Widows Dinner , which now serves hundreds during the fellowship meals .
