In the 1980 ’ s , however , the home fell into disrepair . After changing hands several times , the once stately home was put up for public auction in 2004 . It was then a group of community members , led by Mrs . Gail Loafman , came together to restore the home to its former glory in an effort to preserve the community ’ s history .
Today , the Foreman Prairie House stands as one of the earliest examples of the Prairie Style School of Architecture made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright . We are on the National Registry of Historic Places and enjoy the distinction of Historic Home & Museum . This place , The Crown Jewel of Duncan , serves as a gathering place for our community and a place to connect with our roots .

Oklahoma , The Lindley House Garden Cottages invites you to experience all the comforts of home in leisurely surroundings . Nestled in a garden setting , the English Country home exudes a delightfully romantic and relaxing atmosphere . The Lindley House ’ s central location places it conveniently within Duncan ’ s many points of interest , including the downtown shopping area , antique stores , shopping malls , the Simmons Convention Center , Duncan Golf and Tennis Club , and The Territory Golf Course , a private golf and country club community .
The landmark home was built in 1939 by Dr . E . C . and Helen Lindley . Bonnie and Danny Talley purchased the home in August of 1996 . Remodeling on the large two-story home began immediately and the Lindley House Bed & Breakfast opened July 1 , 1997 .

That ’ s what the owners of Kochendorfer Brewing Company might say to you when you walk in the doors to the area ’ s first brewing company established in Duncan in 2019 .
Lenny and Kathryn Cripps and Chris and Laura ( Coast ) Kochendorfer began working on the Kochendorfer Brewing Company several years ago . When the two couples first met , they discovered they shared one thing in common : the dream of one day opening a brewery .
The company began in Oklahoma City and was birthed by the “ entrepreneurial spirit ” of the Kochendorfers and the Cripps ’
intellect on the craft beer industry .

While the company may have began somewhere else , the two couples decided CULTURE Duncan would be a better fit , not only because the Cripps live in the area , but also because Laura had strong ties in the county .
The brewery ’ s home is at 1155 McCurdy Rd . in Duncan , just south of the Lawton / Duncan Y . According to the owners , the brewery sits on five wooded acres of land and serves as a destination for friends and families to get together .
Since its opening , KBC has hosted numerous family events . Originally starting with six beers , the Brew Master has since released numerous specialties and is known for debuting special time , limited releases as well .
