Director’ s Message
Every team member working at Arlington Water Utilities plays an important role in making sure that the almost 400,000 Arlington residents have water and sewer service that is safe and reliable. In 2025, those efforts were recognized in a very big way. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality( TCEQ) awarded Arlington its Outstanding Public Drinking Water System and Outstanding Cross Connection Control Program designations. TCEQ is the state agency responsible for monitoring community water providers. These honors show the residents of Arlington that their water utility is one of the best in the state of Texas. Our employees are well trained and respected in their fields.
City leaders, including the Arlington City Council and City Manager, encourage the innovation and commitment that make this utility a model for other water systems in Texas. Our spirit of innovation also leads Arlington Water Utilities to seek out new solutions to old problems. One of the most pressing issues in the water industry is limiting water waste. As you will read in these pages, Arlington is addressing this issue with data from near-Earth orbiting satellites and the department’ s first leak detection canine, Splash. Other milestones that help connect residents with knowledge about their water are also featured here, such as city-wide deployment of remotely read meters and the kickoff of our resident academy Arlington Water Utilities University.
The coming year promises to be an exciting one for the American Dream City. In 2026, Arlington Water Utilities will continue to serve residents with the dedication that makes it stand out among Texas utilities as one of the best.
