The Office of Special Events (OSE) is staffed by a Deputy Chief, a Captain, and two grant-funded
Emergency Management Planners. These individuals work closely with numerous City
departments and outside agencies to ensure the safety of guests at each event. OSE is
responsible for ensuring proper City permits are filed, developing Event Action Plans, and
coordinating with venue personnel and other City departments to ensure a successful event for
all. A total of 388 deployments occurred in FY 2018 with members working 21,962 staff hours.
