he City of Arlington Civil Service Commission consists of three members
appointed by the Arlington City Manager. The Commissioners serve
staggered three-year terms with the term of one member expiring each year. This
Commission may, by majority, vote and make rules for the administration of the
Texas Local Government Code Chapter 143.
The Commission, acting in compliance with Chapter 143, has the authority to adopt,
publish, and enforce rules relating to:
• The proper conduct of Commission business meetings;
• The standards for appointment and the procedures for appointment and certification;
• The proper conduct of examinations for entry level and promotional eligibility;
• The proper conduct of appeals of testing and examin
